Solarizing Schools & Markets: As of late 2025, over 50 primary and secondary schools in Busia County have benefited from solar lighting installations, aimed at reducing energy costs and allowing for longer study hours. Market Lighting: Solar floodlights have been introduced in various market areas across Busia to enable small-scale traders to operate late into the night. "Green Busia" Vision: The project is part of a broader vision for 2027 that aims to enhance infrastructure through renewable energy, reduce reliance on power grids, and improve the quality of life in rural communities.
