Solar Power Program - Isongo Primary School, Mariachi East Ward
September 9, 2025
Some moments speak for themselves. The entire ward converged at the compound of Isongo Primary School in Mariachi East Ward to witness the presentation of a solar power system to the school community on September 9, 2025.
That gathering represented more than the transfer of equipment. It was a show of trust between the Osiya Foundation and the people of Mariachi East Ward. A shared belief that this school, and the children who attend it, matter.
Parents, teachers, and community members had come out to be part of the occasion. Nobody had to be there. They came because this was their school, their children, and their community, and they wanted to see it move forward.
The solar panels and battery system now installed at Isongo Primary School mean that learning here is no longer at the mercy of an unreliable grid. Lights will work. Equipment can be charged. Teachers can plan their days knowing the school has what it needs to function.
For a ward like Mariachi East, where access to basic infrastructure has not always kept pace with the community's needs and ambitions, that reliability is not a small thing. It is the kind of steady, dependable support that allows a school to grow.
The Osiya Foundation is proud to have been welcomed into this community and proud to leave something behind that will serve Isongo Primary School for years to come.
