Solar Power Program - Lupida Primary School, Nambale Sub-County
September 10, 2025
Pupils of Lupida Primary School in Nambale Sub-County had reason to celebrate on September 10, 2025. The Osiya Foundation came to their school with two solar panels and a Beacon battery system and by the sea of thumbs ups the community could not have been more ready to receive them.
It's easy to take electricity for granted. But for many schools in western Kenya, it simply isn't there. No lights when the clouds come. No means of charging a device or running basic equipment. Just a school doing its best with what it's got. This is the gap the Osiya Foundation set out to fill at Lupida, and on that sunny September morning they did just that.
The children swarmed the panels with the kind of energy that reminded everyone present why this work is important. Some anchored the panels. Others had their thumbs way up high. For a moment they were all there, a moment their school will not forget.
There is now a consistency at Lupida Primary School that never existed before now that the solar system is set. Constant light. Reliable power. A learning environment that works every single day, no matter what the weather or what the grid decides to do.
That is the mission of the Osiya Foundation, not just to donate equipment, but to invest in the lives of children who deserve a fair chance at a good education every day. Lupida is another school with that foundation now.
If you want to help with this work, we'd love for you to join us. Consider donating, sharing this story, or reaching out to partner with us on our next project.
