Solar Power Program - St. Joseph Munongo Primary School, Bukhayo West Ward
October 15, 2025
On October 15, 2025, St. Joseph Munongo Primary School in Bukhayo West Ward, Matayos Sub-County, received a solar power system from the Osiya Foundation, and the entire school community came out to witness it.
The handover was a formal occasion, marked with the kind of ceremony that a moment like this deserves. For a school community that has waited for this kind of investment, it was important to mark it properly, to make it real, to let the children see that change had arrived and that it had their name on it.
For St. Joseph Munongo, solar power means more than reliable electricity. It means a school that can plan ahead. Teachers who can deliver lessons without working around limitations. Students who arrive each morning to an environment that is fully ready for them. That consistency, day after day, is what builds confidence in a school and in the children it serves.
Bukhayo West Ward is a community with deep roots and strong values around education. The turnout on handover day was a reflection of that ââ¬â parents, staff, and pupils all present, all part of a day that belongs to all of them equally.
The Osiya Foundation is grateful to have been welcomed into St. Joseph Munongo and proud to leave behind something that will serve this school and its community for years to come.
