Solar Power Program - Lukonyi Boys Primary School, Burumba Ward
October 14, 2025
On October 14, 2025, the Osiya Foundation arrived at Lukonyi Boys Primary School in Burumba Ward, Matayos Sub-County, with everything needed to power a school from the ground up, solar panels, cabling, and a complete battery setup, laid out in full view of the school community.
This was not a partial solution. It was a complete one.
For the boys of Lukonyi, that completeness matters. A school that has everything it needs to run sends a clear message to its students that their education is worth investing in fully, not halfway. The solar system handed over that October morning is built to serve this school reliably and for the long term.
Lukonyi Boys Primary School is part of a community in Burumba Ward that is deeply connected to the future of its children. The turnout on handover day reflected that pupils gathered, were present, and were fully aware that something significant was happening at their school.
With solar power now in place, the school can focus on what it does best. Teaching. Learning. Building the kind of foundation that stays with a young person long after they leave the classroom.
The Osiya Foundation is proud to have brought this system to Lukonyi Boys Primary School, and proud to stand behind the work being done here every single day.
