On September 11, 2025, Mundere Primary School in Budalangi Subcounty became a little brighter, in every sense of the word. Hundreds of pupils gathered in their school compound to mark the handover of a solar power system donated by the Osiya Foundation, solar panels, and a battery unit that will keep the school powered reliably through the days and evenings ahead.

The scene in the compound captured something important. Pupils crowded behind the panels, curious, excited, and proud. For a school in rural Budalangi, a sub-county that has long contended with flooding, infrastructure gaps, and limited access to basic services, this kind of investment speaks directly to what the community needs most.

Reliable electricity means teachers can do their work fully. It means classrooms are not dependent on daylight. It means the school day is no longer cut short by circumstances outside anyone's control. The solar system at Mundere is not just a donation; it is an extension of what this school can be.
