Solar Power Program - Ngelechom Primary School, Charkol North Ward
July 17, 2025
On July 17, 2025, the Osiya Foundation held a solar power handover at Ngelechom Primary School in Charkol North Ward, Teso South Sub-County, and the community turned out in full.
Parents, teachers, elders, and pupils filled the school grounds that morning, gathered around solar panels and a battery system that would soon be powering their school. It was not a quiet occasion. It was a community event, complete with remarks from the front and a crowd that was fully present and fully engaged.
That energy is not accidental. Communities that show up like this do so because they believe in their school and in the people working to support it. The Osiya Foundation was honored to stand in front of that crowd and deliver on that belief.
For Ngelechom Primary School, the solar installation is a practical step with a long reach. Reliable electricity changes the rhythm of a school day, lessons run smoother, teachers plan with more confidence, and students learn in an environment that is stable and well-equipped. In a ward like Charkol North, where infrastructure has not always kept pace with community ambition, that stability is a genuine breakthrough.
The Osiya Foundation is proud to have served Ngelechom Primary School and the wider Charkol North Ward community. This is exactly the kind of work we show up to do.
